Inventor Week

Your inventive talent is needed here

Ideas are not merely a mental construct for you? You love to tackle things and create NEW things? You prefer to build freely rather than following instructions? Does technology bring you joy and vigour? Then our Inventor Week is just the right thing for you. For one week, you can let out your inventive spirit all day long. A wide range of materials and tools are at your disposal in our workshop. Technicians will support you with their know-how.

Inventor Week

With the “Inventor Week”, the Talentcenter of the Styrian Economic Chamber offers 12- to 16-year-olds the opportunity to try out and explore the three categories i.e. wood, metal, and electricity on their own. The goal is: To build your own machine!

My daughter has never found science and technology to be this exciting. Thank you!
Julia, Mother

IN THE PROGRAMME:

Summer, sun and sunshine. Summer is a time when you can let your soul swing free, but still discover new things. That’s where the Summer Weeks at the Talent Center come in. They offer an opportunity to get to know new areas that you might not have thought about before, from programming to working with a wide range of materials. The Summer Weeks at the Talent Center broaden your horizons and offer children a unique opportunity to find out about new professions in a fun way.

Dr. Martin Neubauer,
Institute Director WIFI Styria

It does university professors engaged in teacher training good to work directly with children and youth. That way, they can maintain their authenticity for their students and know what they are talking about in their lectures. If they decide to work with the Talent Center of the WKO, it is just that much more rewarding. It is important for those training teachers to be involved where gifts and talents are being promoted. The center for subject-specific didactic research in scientific and technical education (NATech), represented by HS-Prof. Dipl.-Ing. Dr. Marion Starzacher and HS-Prof. Mag. Dr. Erich Reichel, is partially responsible for conceiving of the exciting workshop “Discovering Wood/Metal/Electronics”. Students at the University College of Teacher Education Styria work with young people at their machines and during their breaks. A heartfelt thank you goes to all concerned, and particularly the Talent Center for this wonderful collaboration with the University College of Teacher Education Styria in the area of MINT strategy.

Prof.in Mag.a Dr.in Elgrid Messner,
President of the University College of Teacher Education Styria
